When I started Headwater Teas, my main goal was to help fight my allergy symptoms by making an extremely palatable tea that I could drink all day. However, using the same method I devised for my Allergy tea, I also started making an Immune System Support tea, and shortly thereafter, a Detox or Cleansing Tea.
Tea is already so good for your body in so many ways. Tea is high in antioxidants, polyphenols, and catechins, to name a few. With our Cleansing Tea, we've essentially taken tea and put it on steroids. So what does that all mean for detoxifying your body?
When looking for a 3 day cleanse program or even a 30 day cleanse program, most people are focused on ridding the body of built up toxins, free radicals, radiation, and excess sugars.
But the typical end goal is to help your body burn fat and lose weight. I did a 30 day cleanse with my wife prior to our wedding, and the results were worth the sacrifice.
If you're already on a cleanse program, or about to start one, the good news is that you can drink unsweetened tea instead of just water, and the results will be even better while allowing you to enjoy yourself while detoxing.
Our Cleansing Tea Difference
Our Cleansing Tea is just the right product to add to your cleanse. We infuse our tea with 10 different Detoxifying and Cleansing herbs that do not effect the taste of the tea at all. We only use organic ingredients, giving our customers another level of comfort that they are doing something good for their body and mind.
The following is a list of the herbs we use in our proprietary Cleansing Tea infusion, and a short description of why we chose them:
Turmeric - Contains curcuminoids (mainly curcumin) and antioxidants which protect the body from free radicals, which can damage and break down important organic substances, such as fatty acids, proteins and DNA. Curcumin has also shown to be effective in fighting Alzheimer's, brain degeneration, certain cancers, heart disease, inflammation, and depression.
Milk Thistle - Silymarin is the main active component in milk thistle, and it has been shown to improve liver function to help cleanse the body of unwanted toxins. Milk thistle also contains antioxidants, can reduce inflammation, provide heart health benefits as well as lower the severity of diabetes.
Red Clover - Red Clover is a great blood purifier and diurectic (increases urine production) to help purify the body. It can also be helpful in reducing acne, reduction of cellulite, increasing energy levels, and balancing hormone levels.
Buckthorn - Buckthorn is bursting with healthy minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. Has also been shown to protect your liver and reduce the damaging effects of radiation.
Irish Moss - Irish moss is a nutrient dense seaweed with many health benefits, including helping to balance thyroid hormones, respiratory health, digestion and weight loss.
Chlorella - Seen as the new Spirulina, this nutrient and vitamin dense green algae has been shown to bind with heavy metals in the body, lower harmful food-borne chemicals and enhance the body's natural detoxing ability.
Oregon Grape - A very powerful herbal antibiotic, many studies have shown that this herb could help fight the scary viral infection known commonly as MRSA. Another fun fact, when hiking here in Jackson Hole, one of my favorite finds (other than spotting animals) is the Oregon Grape. It is a super bitter little berry, but I sure do love munching on them in the fall. This grape root is helpful to increase liver and gallbladder function as well as digestion.
Neem - A natural detoxifier and blood purifier, also has antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic and antiseptic properties.
Stinging Nettles - Contains properties which cleanse your body, blood, flushes out toxins and facilitate maintaining clear skin.
Chickweed - Increases the permeability of cell walls and can draw out toxins, and provides an abundance of nutrients, vitamins and minerals.
